About PICTURE BOOK

Picture Book is an independent bookstore inside the co-working and event space HudCo in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

Find the best books for your kids with ease from the curated selection, while also discovering your own grown up “picture book” -a gorgeous cookbook, hot new novel, or a stunning monograph on a Contemporary artist.

Picture Book was created in 2020 by Sara Davidson Johns who lives with her husband and two daughters in Dobbs Ferry, New York.  After a career in the Contemporary Art world, Sara is excited by curating books, and loves sharing that with her neighbors in the Rivertowns

Community is central to Picture Book’s mission so I regularly participate in fundraisers for SPRING, Dobbs Ferry Schools Foundation, Rivertowns for Reproductive Rights, Friends of the Hastings Library and more. We love participating in pop-ups at The Good Witch, Hastings Friday Night Pride, the Phoenicia Flea, Yellow Studio, the Dobbs Ferry Public Library, and Bloomy Cheese Shop.

Join Picture Book’s book club hosted by owner Sara and friend-of-the-bookshop Stephanie. We meet nearly monthly over cheese and drinks at HudCo to discuss a new literary fiction pick. Sign up for our mailing list to find out what we’re reading next.
